Sophomore Jude Richardson and sophomore Chris Estevez prepare for the track and field season with conditioning. Practices will start Jan. 29 at 6 a.m., and students will meet in the locker room to change, then go out to the field to practice.
“A typical day of conditioning would be warming up around 6:15, followed by our coach telling us what we’ll be doing,” Estevez said. “Two days we do workouts on campus that are focused on speed, and the other two days we work out off campus doing long, slower runs to train our endurance and stamina.”
The track team is currently in need of male sprinters to join the team. Any high schoolers interested can talk to coach Joe Estevez in room 4-103.
“Track is a good social sport and helped me to make many friends,” Richardson said. “It’s a new adventure for those that are interested and a good introduction to high school athletics.”
