The Purrfections dance team is preparing and continuing to improve for its performance at the pep rally Oct. 13.
“Our team knows the routine, as we learned it in the beginning of the year,” freshman Maggie Qin said. “I feel as if it is well-polished.”
Since the Purrfections learned their routines and started practices before performing at volleyball games, it allows them to perform neat and clean dances, according to Purrfections coach Stephanie Griffin.
“We are definitely more prepared because we have started our season much earlier than in years past, since we are now performing at volleyball,” Griffin said. “The team has learned and cleaned these routines much earlier in the season versus last year.”
However, Griffin is unable to attend the pep rally.
“Unfortunately, I will not be there at the pep rally which is a difference from last year,” Griffin said. “I work and am not able to use my time on early release days anymore, and I will be at Astronaut High School while they are performing.”
Even though the dance coach is unable to attend, Qin said she looks forward to performing with her new teammates.
“We have new members who have joined, which is super awesome,” Qin said. “I am very excited to perform.”
