Led by Savannah H.(8) with 6 points and 8 rebounds, the middle school girls’ basketball team beat Cocoa 36-13 in a home game Monday night. A total of eleven west Shore girls scored in the game.

Coach Derrick Hamilton noted the physical factor of the match and praised the girls for using teamwork to gain the edge over the Cocoa girls.

The girls move to 6-1 on the season, this being their second triumph over Cocoa this season.

The team next plays away against Space Coast on Thursday at 6:15 p.m.
