Lady Wildcats dominate Trinity Prep

Senior Elena Barr scored three goals and freshman Madison Ainbinder and sophomore Jonelle Plahuta put in one goal a piece to lead the girls’ soccer team past Trinity Prep  5-0 Friday.

Trinity Prep, which beat the girls’ team last year, was presumed to be one of the more challenging opponents for this season. But due to Trinity’s depleted lineup, this matchup wasn’t even close.

“At first we were intimidated knowing that we were playing a team who beat us last year,” sophomore Lena Hatter said. “But then we found out about the team’s 11 players and no goalie and that boosted our confidence.”

After a taking 1-0 lead into halftime, the girl’s started to truly take advantage of the fact Trinity Prep didn’t have a goalie, scoring the other four goals in the second half.

“I think we played decent,” eighth-grader Chloe A. said. “Usually that team is really good but their short lineup really helped us out”.

The Lady Wildcats will play their next game at West Shore against Cocoa on Monday at 7 p.m
