The girls’ varsity tennis team lost 5-2 against Cocoa Beach High School on Thursday.
“It was a tough match,” junior Suhina Mitra said. “Their team is a lot older than ours.”
The team had played Cocoa Beach the week before and had lost 4-3. They played them again for the Cape Coast Conference championship.
“The heat was a lot worse this time, and I could see it affecting the team,” sophomore Rhea Sinha said.
Sinha won her singles match 6-2 and her doubles match 6-0.
“I’m happy with how I played, despite the sun, heat and wind,” she said.
The team will play an away game against Merritt Island Christian on March 19.
