The girls’ tennis team’s season ended after losing Districts on Monday at Fee Avenue Tennis Complex.
Eighth-grader Nikita S. won her first district match in a tiebreaker 11–9. She lost both sets of her second match 7–6 and 6–3.
“My second match was really long and I hurt my arm, so I didn’t end up playing well enough to win,” Nikita said. “We all did well, so it sucks for this to be the outcome.”
The team had three seventh graders and no seniors.
“For having a fairly young team this year, I think we did good,” junior Suhina Mitra said. “But I’m sure we’ll advance further next year now that the new players gained some experience on the court.”
