The Space Coast Lacrosse girls’ competitive travel team tryouts were April 14. Junior Cameron Coalter, sophomore Alex Buras, freshman Lauren Bender, seventh grader Delilah V. and freshman Laelia Palomar attempted to make the team.
“I decided to join the team because I know I will get a lot of experience from playing with excellent lacrosse players,” Coalter said. “I also want to see if this is something I want to do in college.”
Bender made the team. Space Coast Lacrosse will compete in two tournaments: one in Greenville, South Carolina on June 1-2 and one in Palm Coast, Florida on June 15-16.
“I wanted to join so I could get better at the sport and prepare for my sophomore season,” Bender said.
Coalter said the tryouts happening before the West Shore lacrosse season ended helped her.
“I felt prepared because it was while the season was still going and I was practicing every day,” Coalter said.
