Dashing, dancing and prancing across the finish line for the holidays

To get into the holiday spirit, Running Zone is holding their annual Jingle Bell 2 Miler race on Saturday, Dec. 15. The race will start at the Satellite Beach Library.

This is the first race for seventh grader Shaye C. since the beginning of November when the cross country season ended.

“I’m not really running for a good time I just want to have fun, and it’s a good way to run off all of the Christmas cookies I’m about to eat,” she said. “I might even dress up if I have time to put a costume together.”

Not only is the cross country team participating, varsity soccer player senior Samantha Intille shows excitement going into her first race.

“Christmas is my favorite holiday and I’m always looking for ways to get into the spirit,” she said. “I’ve never really ran in a race, but it should be good because it’s only two miles. Also because its at night it will be nice out and we will get to see all of the Christmas lights while we run.”

The race will begin at 5:45 p.m. and prizes will be handed out for each age group.
