To raise money for new equipment, Space Coast Crew is holding a garage sale Saturday from  7 a.m. go 2 p.m. at  Steak House in Indian Harbour Beach next to the Lowes parking lot.

“Fundraising is probably one of the most important parts of being a part of the crew team,” Coach Sam Moriarty said. “Crew is an expensive sport and to be able to keep our prices to a reasonable level, we have to do garage sales and car washes.”

The garage sale is an annual tradition for Space Coast Crew and usually brings in around $500 to $600, according to Moriarty.

“The garage sale was changed from the Satellite Beach Community Center to Steak House this year because we wanted a more populated location,” Melbourne Central Catholic senior Meagan Hoffman said. “Not only that, but the community center does not have lights, which makes everything more irritating [setting up] at 5 a.m.”
