Due to coaching changes, the crew team practice schedule has been adjusted. All members will practice on Mondays and Thursdays, men-only practices will be held on Tuesdays and women-only sessions will be on Wednesdays. All practice sessions last from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
“Practice is getting out a little later now because we would used to get off the water by 7, and parents would be upset,” Coach Heather Rogers said. “Now if we say 6:45, parents will be a little more flexible if we are running late on the water.”
Junior Ana Guerra said this change will be a good thing.
“I feel like now there is less of a rush to get back on land after a workout,” Guerra said. “My mom will be OK if she only has to wait 15 minutes instead a half an hour. That can be pretty annoying for my ride and stressful for myself if I know that I am running a half hour behind.”
Land workout Coach Mike Hoffman said the longer sessions provide for a better workout.
“We now have a chance to go on a quick run before we go on the water,” Hoffman said, “We also have more time when we come back in on schedule to go a quick weight circuit or maybe some stretching.”
