During the most recent boys’ lacrosse match, freshmen Collin Munro and sophomore Michael Carroll both scored 2 goals, but the team lost 19–5 against Holy Trinity Episcopal High School in a district game Thursday afternoon.
“We played well, especially our defense, and honestly, our teamwork has definitely improved as we play more games in the season ever since getting a new roster of teammates,” Carroll said.
Munro and Carroll were the top scorers of the game, and freshmen Treven Lynes scored one goal.
“The game was really well-played in my opinion,” Lynes said. “We worked well together, but I think we need more experience together and we will work perfectly together, but the game could have ended earlier.”
This loss ended the district run for boys’ lacrosse. It was their first game in the district finals.
“Offense could have done better in this game,” Munro said. “Even though our teamwork has improved, we still lost drastically, but all that matters is that we worked together as a team and are learning from each loss, as we hope to do better next game. I think Michael performed the most out of everyone due to his leading, hopeful and charismatic personality.”
The boys’ lacrosse season has ended.
“We did end with a negative record, but our individual skill and knowledge is much more important,” Carroll said. “Even though we lost this season, the games were fun, and I hope we [play] even harder next season,” Carroll said.
