Sophomore wrap up kickball tournament

Sophomores found out they will no longer be playing kickball in homeroom because the tournament, which lasted for three months, is now finished. Even though they won’t go outside anymore, students still say they loved the experience.

“I thought it was so much fun,” sophomore Maddie Brownlie said. “I didn’t ever play, but watching my friends play was very entertaining and I hope we do something like this again”

Students weren’t the only ones having withdrawals from not having kickball every Friday.

“I thought it was awesome,” homeroom teacher Athena Pietrzak said. “I get a lot of good feedback on that from a lot of the teachers. They liked seeing their kids do something other than sitting on their phones in homeroom. I just like being outside, and this time of year was amazing.”

Pietrzak hinted at sophomore homerooms playing more sports because teachers said it was a success.

“What I’d like to do is to add some other things in,” Pietrzak said. “We are lucky to have two PE teachers teaching homeroom in this grade, so I think it’s just a matter of what we want to do.”
