Relay For Life meeting set for March 4

The Relay for Life team has scheduled a meeting for March 4 to discuss the overnight event which will be begin April 9. The annual  event raises money to fund cancer research. Relay will have music, games, and food.

Attending the event and the meeting will help will students earn their mandatory 25 hours to qualify for Bright Futures.

“At the meeting we will be discussing T-shirt sales, which are in the process of being designed by [Jim] Finch’s graphic-design class,” West Shore team captain Shelby McKeever said. “We will also be discussing the Jersey Mikes fund-raiser being held on March 15.”

The cost to attend the event is $60.

“I will be showing kids how to register online. Students that don’t pay the $60 will have to leave by midnight,” McKeever said.

The event is at Wickham Park from 2 p.m. to 6 am.

“I have only done Relay for one year, but it was so much fun,” sophomore Chloe Desantis said. “We played games all night, and it was for a good cause. I can’t wait to see the turnout this year.”
