Purrfections to perform at EFSC
The varsity Purrfections dance team will be performing at the boys’ Eastern Florida State College basketball game on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. in the gym. The dance team coach, April Shaw, received an invite requesting that the girls showcase their moves in support of the Titans.
This is the first time that the West Shore dance team has ever performed for a team other than their own.
“I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to dance for a school other than my own,” junior Erin Sheridan said. “It will be a truly great experience.”
Freshman Hope Dougherty concurs.
“I am very excited to make history at EFSC because I plan on dancing in college so doing this will give me a taste of the future,” Dougherty said. “I am not nervous, though, because I am on a company team that performs for big crowds often.”
The six seniors on the dance team are thrilled to be able to perform once more with their team after senior night, which is Fri. Jan. 31.
“Performing with my team is so important to me and I am grateful for this extension to this season, even if it is only by a day,” senior captain Keiran Sheridan said. “I do not plan on continuing my dancing career in college, so this will be the last time I dance on a team.”
