Purrfections play Santa for needy

For the past two years the Purrfections dance team has been Santa for different families.  Recently, the team bought presents for a family in need.  The three children ages 3, 9 and 12 recently lost their mother and have been separated.  The children were worried that they weren’t going to have a Christmas.

“Those students go to my school and it’s sad to hear that these kids wouldn’t be together anymore let alone not a Christmas,” Purrfections Coach April Shaw said.  “All of our girls pitched in, and I know the team really will make an impact on those kids.”

The girls split up into three teams and each shopped for one of the children based on their wish lists, which included bikes, scooters, clothes, books and dolls.  The presents will be delivered to the children anonymously.

“It feels good knowing that we are helping a family that has next to nothing,” freshman Kristina Youngson said.  “I loved shopping for those kids and thinking of how excited these kids would be on Christmas morning.”
