PTA hopes to put the fun in fund-raiser

The school’s PTA will be putting on its first ever Wildcat Casino Night on March 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The fund-raiser will be held at Hell ‘n Blazes Brewing Company in Melbourne in hopes to raise money for the upcoming year.

“General Admission in $75 and with that purchase food, drinks and $1,000 play money will be included,” PTA President Dianna Hetzel said. “We had the idea of a casino theme from a Christmas party many of us had attended last year. There were poker tables with dealers set up and a bar where you got to talk and just hang out. It seemed like an awesome idea for West Shore’s fund-raiser because we wanted to do something that was more than just a way of raising money: a unique and fun night out for parents.”

The event will include casino games, a 50/50 raffle, a poker tournament, even a silent auction. With this, all of the money will go towards West Shore Jr./Sr. High.

“I’m super excited for the fund-raiser. the venue looks awesome,” PTA Treasurer Rula Rukab said. “With how hard our students work, they deserve the money to fund all of their cool activities, and we hope people keep that in mind when they are spending money at this event. Just that it goes to a good place.”

Tickets for the fund-raiser will be sold leading up to the day of the event.
