Pep bus headed to Jacksonville

All aboard. Students and teachers can ride a pep bus to Jacksonville Friday cheer on the varsity boys’ soccer team in the state semifinals against Bolles High School. However, there is  a cap on how many people will be permitted to travel to the game.

“Students have to pay $20 to pay for the bus fee and get a permission slip signed by their sixth and seventh [period] teachers,” Athletic Director Bonnie Bettis said.  “Anybody who wants to attend has to pay $9 admission and it’s first-come, first-serve for who ever wants to go.”

The game is schedule to begin at 7 p.m. Students will not be returning home until after midnight.

“I think it is a great idea having our fans be able to come and support us,” said Doug Fisher, a senior on the varsity soccer team. “I just hope that kids don’t take advantage of this privilege and go just to get out of school. I’d rather have people who go to all of our games than have people come just to get out of school.”
