Pen Pal exchange program under way
The National English Honors Society is planning to participate in the Pen Pal Exchange Program according to Nicholas Etrick, NEHS president. This program allows students to develop new friendships by writing letters to other students around the country and to military soldiers. Program leader Sue Polski emailed schools around the country providing forms and information about the program.
“I am getting whole classes to write other whole classes in a different state,” Polski said, “We have been doing this for several years now and the teachers and students love it.”
The program is aimed toward first- through eighth-graders, but the club still plans to participate by writing letters to only eighth-graders and military soldiers.
An officers’ meeting for NEHS will be held Tuesday to further discuss the details in participating in this program, according to club sponsor Carrie Glass.
