It’s ‘Oklahoma!’ all over again

Performed as the school’s fall musical last year, “Oklahoma!” has turned into a fading memory. But it’s time for a second chance as the play is returning to Melbourne, but this time it will be performed at The Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts on July 13-15.

Participants include students entering ninth grade in the fall of 2012 to college freshman entering their sophomore year in fall of 2012. They are guaranteed a chance to audition for all who apply and pay the $25 application fee.

“[West Shore’s performance of ‘Oklahoma!’] feels like it happened forever ago,” sophomore Michelle Smith said. “I don’t think I’ll be able to audition but some of my friends might. I had so much fun doing that play last year. We had our mistakes but I feel it turned out really good in the end.”

Applications are available on the King Center’s website http://www.kingcenter.com/summer-music-theatre-program/info
