Novel Coronavirus foils plans

Millions of Americans have had their plans canceled due to the coronavirus, and school cancelations are upon us. Large gatherings of more than 50 people are highly discouraged by the Center for Disease Control, and now nowhere is safe. Most sports have been terminated as well in Brevard County out of an abundance of caution.

“I just got out of my cast and I was really looking forward to playing soccer but now it’s all canceled,” Ritvic Varada said. “Our state tournament is still on, but I’m so out of practice there’s no point in even going.”

For others, it’s their vacation or academics that are in jeopardy.

“We planned on going to Disney for four nights but now that they’re closed we can’t,” Christian Garcia said. “Even the state Latin tournament was canceled which really [stinks] since I was really looking forward to getting a ranking this year since I got sixth last year.”

A two-week quarantine is required for anyone that went on a cruise or traveled out of the country during Spring Break.
