NJHS application deadline Wednesday

Freshmen and middle-school students are filling out their applications in hopes of landing a membership in the National Junior Honor Society.

NJHS leaders sent invitations to prospective members Jan. 13 and are accepting applications through Wednesday. New seventh through ninth grade members will be inducted March 8 in the auditorium. A celebration will follow in the cafeteria.

“I can’t wait until the induction,” NJHS President Kaitlin Inganna said. “The more people, the more force we have to make a difference in the community, which is the main reason we have this club.”

NJHS organizes events for the school and fundraisers for charity. Membership in the club is seen as a plus for college resumes and a must for getting into National Honor Society in 10th grade. Students must have attended mandatory meetings this school year and maintain a 3.0 GPA to join.

“I am super-excited to do all the fun things we have planned for you guys,” NHJS Historian Amanda Moscrip said. “It’s going to be an awesome year.”
