Winter Dance fund-raiser a financial success

Project Graduation’s Winter Dance held Saturday at the Eau Gallie Civic Center proved to be a successful fund-raiser, according to the organization’s President Jeff Glatter.

“This dance exceeded our expectations,” Glatter said via email. “ It was a huge success. There were 270 paid attendees.”

The event brought in $2,100 compared with $1,400 raised at last year’s Winter Dance.

Freshman Bailey Coolican seemed to enjoy herself.

“There was enough space at Eau Gallie Civic Center,” she said. “It was really hot, but I think its going to be like that anywhere.”

Upcoming fund-raisers for Project Graduation will include a “Simon Sez Comedy Hypnosis Show” on Feb. 25 in the auditorium at 6:30 pm. and a golf tournament  at Cocoa Beach Country Club on  April 9.  The Project Graduation board of directors will also be selling “Senior Celebration Signs” for parents to place at the King Center and on their lawns for graduation.
