Black Culture Club attends film premiere

The Black Culture Club attended the premiere of the film “Red Tails” Friday night at CinemaWorld theater. Members of the club departed the school in a limousine around 4 p.m.

“It would be great to see a lot of students from West Shore show up and support us,” parent sponsor Juliette Bailer said. “It’s taken too long for this movie to come out, the story of these brave, young men needs to told.”

The movie is based on the true story of the Tuskegee Airmen who braved the skys as the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II, starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard and Neyo.

“Why wouldn’t you want to go? There’s popcorn and a good movie, it’s a win-win,” said junior Makayla Bentley, one of the club’s founders.

Cinemaworld is located in West Melbourne at 4345 West New Haven Avenue, tickets sold at the door. Contact Juliette Bailer at (321)373-7032 for any additional information or questions regarding the club.
