“The Legend of Zelda” is one of the largest franchises in video game history, with more than 30 games featuring a protagonist named Link, so it’s no surprise that a new “The Legend of Zelda” game is in the works by Nintendo. “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” is the direct successor to “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and is expected to be released May 12 on the Nintendo Switch Platforms and will be sold for $69.99. 

“The trailer [for the game] makes me unbelievably excited for the game,” freshman Robert Santiago said. “[The game] seems much more amazing and complex, and I’m just ready to delve into this new content .”

Santiago said he has logged 1,000 hours in the previous title and is hoping to put 1,000 more in the new game.

Freshman Sophia Fetouh said she is also looking forward the game’s release.

“The trailer is insanely cool,” she said. “I have always been a sucker for the Zelda and Link romance, so I am really excited for that.” 

Fetouh shared another fond memory of the franchise.

“I watched my dad play [“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”] when I was little, and we played the game together,” she said. “I have some deep core memories with the  game.”
