Mu Alpha Theta prepares for competition

Members of the Mu Alpha Theta math team are getting ready for three competitions that will take place in the spring.

“We did pretty good last year, and this year it looks like we’ll do just as good if not better,” junior Robert Edmiston said.

Before the competitions, team members will start practicing after school on a regular basis. The team has chosen officers, and students have been signing up for competitions.

The competitions have been scheduled for Jan. 21, Feb. 4 and March 3. In recent years, the team members have won multiple individual and team awards in algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus and statistics.

“The worst part [of the competitions] is waking up early on a Saturday to go do math,” Edmistonsaid.
