MS boys bounce past Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach started Tuesday’s middle-school boys’ basketball game with a three-pointer to jump to a 3-0 lead. They never led again. The Wildcats defended their home court with a 13-point victory against the Minutemen. With an emphasis made on rebounding, eighth-graders Evan L. and Dave T. led the charge with eight and seven rebounds respectively.

While the Wildcats improved their record to above .500, a greater challenge lies ahead.

“We still need to keep our focus and keep getting better,” assistant basketball coach Justin Laneuville said.

“[Thursday’s] game against Edgewood will be a huge game [because] they beat us the first time,” Head Coach Greg Buttrick said.

The Indians are the only team yet to tarnish the Wildcats’ record.
