Middle schoolers present ‘Aladdin’
On Friday, March 21, middle school theatre will present the play “Aladdin” during first, second, and part of third period. The morning performance will only be for a middle school audience, but there will be a second show open to the public at 7:00 pm the same day.
Aladdin will be portrayed by seventh-grader Kyle C. It is his first leading role in a West Shore production, although he has had other supporting roles, such as in “The King and I.”
“I’m excited about one of the first scenes: it’s the song ‘One Jump Ahead,’” Kyle C. said. “It’s a really good song and has a really good feel to it.”
Eighth-grader Catherine T. will play the lead female role of Princess Jasmine.
“I like acting and singing, and it’s fun to be around other people who have the same interests,” Catherine T. said.
Kyle and Catherine will be reenacting the beloved Disney classic, where a mischievous thief falls in love with an elegant princess. Magic genies, flying carpets, and all the rest of the Disney magic will be present in the production.
Editor’s note: Brevard Public Schools policy prohibits the inclusion of middle-schoolers’ last name on its web sites.
