Middle-school math competitors chosen
Last Friday, math teacher Steve Thomas hosted the annual Math Counts competition. This competition was at school level and determined the team to represent West Shore this February at the district level.
“The most difficult parts are performing well enough to qualify for the Countdown round and going head-to-head,” Thomas said.
Math Counts is a competition that is split up into four rounds: a sprint round, a target round, a team round, and finally a countdown round.
“The hardest part of the competition was keeping calm,” eighth-grader Harrison L. said.
The following students made the “Top Ten”: Muhammad A., Aaron H., Ryan F., Zach Z., Iksha H., Harrison L., Christian C., Andres C., Austin H., Divya R., Samanth N.
