Merritt Island mauls boys’ lacrosse team

Junior Ian Chan put one point on the scoreboard for the boys’ lacrosse team which succumbed to Merritt Island 14-1 Wednesday.

“We are improving our control of the ball, but we have no offensive strategy to get the goals we need,” Chan said.

Other team members agree that most of the goals that have been scored this season have been the result of individual efforts instead of a team attack.

Eighth-grader Tom S. said that compared to the Eau Gallie game last Thursday, the team didn’t work together at all which caused the large goal differential.

“We can win at least one game if we try to train our offense and fix minor mistakes,” Sherry said.

Looking toward its first victory of the season, the boys will next against the Viera Hawks on Friday at 6 p.m.
