Latin students prepare for Forum

Latin students will be heading to Holy Trinity Episcopal Acadamy on Jan. 28 for the Latin Forum.

Freshman Molly Minta has been going for the past two years, and she is expecting it to be like last year’s forum.

“Everyone goes and takes a test and submits a project,” she said. “Some people participate in Latin jeopardy, and other people do plays or speeches. For the most part, you sit around and wait to get your test graded and hopefully get an award.”

Latin teacher Virgina Wills says she’s looking forward to the event.

“There’s four schools competing from the county, Satellite, Edgewood, Holy Trinity and West Shore,” she said.

According to the Florida Junior Classical League website, Latin Forum has been going on for 62 years. West Shore has been participating 1998.
