Latin star started on his own

Mere interest sparked great intellect in freshman, Latin III student, Sergio Carlos.

“Sergio has been very impressive throughout the year,” Latin teacher, Virginia Wills said. “He has been one the most outstanding students in all activities this year, winning awards at the Latin forum, scoring a Magna Cum Laude on the National Exam and in the classroom with honor student grades.”

The freshman, despite skipping a grade and taking the first two courses of Latin online at the Florida Virtual School, has excelled in Latin.

“Halfway through fifth grade my teachers recognized that class was too easy and allowed me to move up to sixth grade and finish my elementary years,” Carlos said. “I also knew class was too easy, so I decided to fill my seventh and eighth grade years with the online course of Latin and the rest is history.”
