Latin club goes on hiatus

The Junior Classical League — also known as Latin Honor Society — apparently has gone the way of history for reasons unclear even to its former sponsor.

“I am not really sure why,” Latin teacher Virginia Wills said. “It may have something to do with the want for the club going down.”

Will also suggested an alternative theory.

“Another reason may be that, since my club is card games this year, the want for card games has increased,” she said.

During Junior Classical League meetings, members often engaged in educational competition and studied Greek mythology, according to former member Joe Along, a sophomore.

“The effect of the disappearance of this club is not much besides losing the luxury of playing board games and watching movies,” he said.
