Key Club selling carnation grams

Carnations will be sold at lunch in the cafeteria on Feb. 9, 10 and 13 to raise money for the March of Dimes charity. The association’s mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

“It’s great that Key Club does this fundraiser because we’ve been donating to this charity for a few years now, and they really do appreciate all the help they get,” club president Bianca Taraschi said.

The carnations will be on sale for $1 each or $2 for three. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be sent to the organization for its support.

“The flowers are fun to give to friends and even though they’re inexpensive, the money adds up fast,” senior and club member Nick De La Hoz said.

Everyone has the opportunity to send a flower to a friend or a loved one for Valentine’s Day.

“I think it’s a really cute thing to do around Valentine’s Day, and it’s nice knowing that the proceeds are going to a good cause,” sophomore Scarlett Callahan said.
