When Korean pop star PSY’s “Gangnam Style” video went viral during the summer, few suspected it would make an impact on campus. But the Asian Culture Club saw and opportunity to merge a pop culture experience with its fund-raising efforts.
“K-Pop dance off is basically, we have many groups and dance to Korean music to beat the others,” freshman Hyan Bak said.
No date has yet been set for the competition which pits Bak, Rebecca Castillo, Christopher Schaefer and Austin Altevogt against Daniel Kim, Lily Zou and Leena Quades.
“Were gonna own,” Castillo said. “We have all the best dancers.”
Not all Asian Culture Club members will compete as some will serve as judges.
