JV Baskebtall falls to Astronaut 51-40

The junior varsity boys’ basketball team lost its second game of the season against Astronaut High. The first game, at Astronaut, ended in a loss for the team and the same thing happened at Thursday’s home game with a final score of 51-40.

” I thought we played a good game. We ran our offense well and played OK on the defensive end of the floor, but we weren’t able to pull out the win,” sophomore Carl Koko said. “Everyone was against us, even the refs. They made some ridiculous calls that obviously didn’t go our way.”

Still, freshman Daniel Shelton remains optimistic regarding the remainder of the season.

” We improved a lot from the beginning of the season, but we just need to compete better,” he said. “I think we can evolve into one of the best teams in the league.”

The next game is Friday at Merritt Island. The game starts at 5:30.
