Junior basketball player hits 1,000 points
Junior Lydia Kline scored her 1,000th point at the Jan. 24 basketball game which fell on senior night. These points do not take into account for her travel team or her middle school years.
“It felt really great to score my 1,000th point,” Kline said. “It was a big accomplishment for me and I had to put in a lot of hard work to get here.”
Kline’s mom printed a shirt for her that said “Lazy, but talented. 1,000 points!”
“I didn’t know my mom was going to make me the shirt,” Lydia Kline said. “When I saw the shirt it made me smile and laugh.”
As of now, there is not a West Shore record for the number of baskets made for a girl’s basketball season, but Kline is hoping to reach 1,500 by the end of her senior year.
“This was a really big deal for me,” Lydia Kline said. “I hope it gets college coaches to recognize me and hopefully I will get the opportunity to continue playing after high school.”
