Hoopsters top Edgewood, win first Brain Bowl

Junior Anthony Wattwood scored 15 points last night to lead the varsity boys’ basketball team to a 46-36 victory against the Edgewood Indians. This game held extra meaning for this years teams, as it was the inaugural Brain Bowl, a annual competition between Brevard’s two schools of choice.

“It is great that we won and brought home the Brain Bowl, but we did a poor job rebounding,” Coach Tony Riopelle said. “If we are going to achieve our goals of getting to the regional playoffs, we need to do a better job with that aspect of our game.”

The team, on a three-game winning streak heading into the final stretch of its season, will face off against  another district opponent, the Satellite Scorpions on Friday.

” We have been playing really well in the final half of the season,” senior Adam Kline said.  “if we execute like we have been, we will be just fine against anyone we play in our district.”
