High School Track Continues with a Strong Season

The boys’ and girls’ track team travelled to Eau Gallie High School on Wednesday at 4 p.m. to compete against Eau Gallie and Heritage.

“The distance runners really had a good showing, which accounted for the majority of the points obtained for our team,” senior team captain, Michael Field said.

Kate Crowley finished first in the mile and two mile; as well as leading her 4 X 800 [relay] team to a victory. Luke Redito placed first in the mile, and Jacob Smithe placed first in the two mile. Redito and Smithe also lead their 4 X 800 team to a strong first place finish. Overall, the boys’ and girls’ placed second.

“I’m pretty happy of the results of the meet on the distance side,” said Smithe who was the top runner for distance. “I was especially satisfied that we got our time down in the 4 X 800 significantly.”
