Graduation to Stream Live Online

When the class of 2015 graduates, there will be a live streaming video of the event online for people who cannot attend in person.

Assistant Principal Robert Farrell said that it has been available for years now, and it has always been a success.

“I think it’s a great idea,” he said. “You have those grandparents or those aunts and uncles that can’t make it to graduation so they get the opportunity to watch it live streamed.”

Senior Molly Minta said she likes the idea of graduation being streamed.

“Most of my family lives either abroad or in Michigan and are unable to come to my graduation, so I think it’s nice that they’ll still be able to see me graduate,” she said.

Farrell said that there is only one problem people have had in past years.

“The only complaint or issue that I have heard is that they do stream commercials,” he said. “We did look into that and we’re going to look into it again for next school year as well—I think it’s a little too late at this point—but there’s packages that you can purchase. What we need to do is just look at how much that package is so that they don’t have commercials.

Graduation will stream live beginning at 6:45 PM on May 27 at the following link: https://www.ustream.tv/broadcaster/20347426
