Girls transition to club soccer season

After the girls’ soccer team’s season ended, many girls look forward to playing club ball. The majority of girls play at clubs such as Indialantic, Brevard Soccer Alliance and Space Coast United.

“My team overall works really hard as a unit to get the job done,” said junior Fallon Klenotich, who plays for the U18 Brevard Soccer Alliance girls team. “Last weekend we played in Tampa at the CDL Showcase and we were 1-1.”

Club soccer differs from high-school soccer with many tournaments that often have the girls playing three to four games each weekend, consequently creating less time for homework and socializing.

“You have to get used to the fact that all your free weekends are never free because sometimes games pop up,” sophomore Anna Wilder said. “Games are usually in Orlando or farther, so it takes up a good majority of the day.”
