Girls’ soccer names new social media manager

Starting the West Shore girls’ soccer Instagram page two years ago, it is finally time for senior Lauren Mannix to pass down the login information.

“I started the account as something for the team to just have fun with and post pictures of ourselves with hope to bring attention to the girls soccer team,” Mannix said.

Junior London Burke will take on this responsibility in the upcoming season.

“I feel very honored to be chosen to be the new runner of the Instagram page being that the previous owner took so much pride and time in the work she posted,” Burke said.

There are many key factors when it comes to running a school sport social media page.

“I always posted on game days and would post when we won, just trying to be as active as possible,” Mannix said. “I would either take pictures myself or get them from Billy Nemes and then edit them to post.”

Despite taking on new responsibilities Burke is excited to accept this role and eventually pass it down herself.

“I don’t feel too stressed to run it as it is a fun aspect we have created to showcase achievements by the team and our individual players,” Burke said. “I’m most excited to showcase my creativity and use a platform to represent the wildcats women’s soccer team.”
