Girls’ soccer falls to Satellite in preseason game

Junior Elena Barr scored her second goal of the game in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as the girls’ varsity soccer team fell to Satellite 3-2 in its first preseason game Tuesday night.

Barr had scored a quick goal in the first quarter, but shortly after the water break Satellite scored an equalizer, making the game 1-1 .

“We got more relaxed once we got the goal instead of continuing to push for more,” junior Sydney Zamorano said. “Satellite didn’t give up.”

Satellite scored twice in the third quarter, taking the lead for good.

Sophomore Samantha Intille said she and her teammates learned from the experience.

“As a team we can work on communicating more on the games ahead,” she said. “We definitely need to finish opportunities whenever we can.”
