Girls’ soccer advances to district final

The girls’ soccer team defeated Melbourne Central Catholic in a nail-biting 3-1 victory in the district semifinals Wednesday night.

“We were all very pumped to play in the game,” sophomore Anna Wilder said. “I had no idea what the score was going to be because we tied MCC during the regular season.”

Junior Fallon Klenotich said she was pleased with the team’s performance.

“We played really well overall as a team and we were able to put in work through the season and get the results needed to move on to district finals,” she said. “Although there’s things that we could have done better, there’s always room for improvement in the sport of soccer.”

The 16-17 Lady Wildcats will play Edgewood on Friday at Cocoa in the district championship game.
