Girls’ lacrosse loses season-opener

Viera High school defeated the girls’ lacrosse team 12-5 Friday night, but the Lady Wildcats walked away with their heads high and some new practice techniques to implement.

“The game was really interesting and fun to play,” said sophomore Christine Sherry, who scored twice. “We have a lot to work on during practice, especially ground balls.”

Throughout the night, the girls played strong in their first-ever varsity game.

“I think the game was a great start for the season, and the girls played well,” Coach Sheila Owen said.  “Viera is a great team and has good stick skills and that’s what the girls need to practice on.”

The Lady Wildcats will next take on Satellite High School on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
