Girls’ soccer falls short at Vero Beach
Freshman Elena Barr scored two goals and junior Erica Lobmeyer added one but the girls’ soccer team fell 4-3 to Vero Beach on Tuesday.
“We were tied at 2-2 for most of the game but then the referee started handing out yellow cards like breath mints, and that got some of our key players taken off of the field which led to one of their goals,” senior Casey Schauman said.
Despite the loss, junior Brittany Etrick had some positive feedback.
“Of course I’m disappointed we couldn’t get the win, considering how close we were,” Etrick said. “But Vero Beach is a good team, so it’s good to see we are hanging with the best teams around”
The Lady Wildcat’s next game is Monday at home against St. Cloud.
