EOC results will delay report cards

Because of the release of End of Course exam scores, report cards will be delayed until June. As a result, students in grades seven through 11 will need to pick up their report cards from the front office during the summer.

The delay is OK with sophomore Micah Weber.

“It’s irrelevant,” she said. “I don’t really care.”

Freshman Alex Keels agreed.

“I didn’t notice at all, and I honestly don’t care.” he said. “I think it’s good though, because I can pick up my grades.”

Freshman Deanna Ebling seemed annoyed by the automated call sent to the homes of affected students.

“It’s stupid. My parents are irritated by it,” she said. “My mom doesn’t want to come get a report card.”

Some seemed worried, however, by the the timing of the distribution.

“It makes me a little nervous because by the time you find out, it’s too late to talk to your teachers,” freshman Anna Held said. “I’m kind of too busy to deal with it.”

Geometry teacher Sabrina Nobili said the delay hadn’t been a topic of discussion in her classes.

“If it were me, I would like to the grades to come in on time so I wouldn’t have to wait,” she said.

Report cards for seniors will be unaffected and will be distributed May 25.
