Dog surfing competition set for Sunday

Easter Pro-Am Dog Surfing Competition will be taking place at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach on Easter Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help raise awareness for homeless animals with the Humane Society.

“I’ve seen dogs surfing on Instagram and I’ve been dying to see them,” sophomore Tatum Berard said. “I think it’s something everyone could enjoy while raising money.”

The cost for dog surf lessons is $10, beach access is $5 for each dog and the competition entry feel is $25. Visit https://brevardhumanesociety.org/easter-surfing/ to enter.

“I think [the prices are] understandable because they are raising money for the dogs,” sophomore Tyler Jack said. “I just hope there are enough dogs competing.”

The parking fee is $5 an hour and won’t exceed $25 per day.
