The school’s transition from classroom air-conditioning control to control in Rockledge has been completed, but fine-tuning continues.
“The people from the district are still programming the hours that the AC will operate,” Assistant Principal for Facilities Jim Melia said.
Teachers and students have been experiencing uncomfortable classroom temperatures as well as uncommon AC operation hours.
“We have no local control anymore,” Melia said. “Everything is in Rockledge. If I tell them a teacher complaint, they send me an email of the room temperatures.”
The district sends workers to West Shore to inspect issues as they come up.
