Dance team to hold garage sale

The dance team  has scheduled a garage sale Saturday to raise money for competition fees.

“The last time we had a garage sale it was a huge success,” Coach April Shaw said. “We haven’t had one in two years, so a lot of stuff has been accumulating. We are planning on having a lot of people come out to support us.”

All three teams, middle school, JV and varsity, will be working the garage sale which will be held on Shady Run Road in Melbourne

“It should be a great team-bonding experience,” varsity dancer Keiran Sheridan said. “Earlier in the year we when did car washes, we didn’t have our middle school team together yet so it is going to be a great time to bond and get to know everyone.”

Items for sale will range from clothing and furniture  to glassware.  Baked goods and drinks also will be sold.

“I am personally bringing a lot of furniture, and I know some girls are bringing clothes,” Shaw said. “We should have a wide variety of things to sell so that we hopefully make a good amount of profit. The more money we raise now, the less we have to worry about when it comes closer to January.”

The money dance team raises is for the competition fees for all three teams to compete at the UDA Florida Regional Dance Competition in January.

“Hopefully the garage sale will be a big success,” Sheridan said, “We are bringing four routines to Regionals which will cost a lot of money but being able to compete against some of the best teams in the state is worth it.”
