Dance team starts winter schedule

The dance team has shifted into its winter-sports schedule, performing the routines they learned at summer dance camp during the halftimes of soccer and basketball games.

“I like our kick dance because it is really energetic,” sophomore and varsity dance team member Erica Denni said. “And the crowd loves it too.”

The team has been preparing for its performances by practicing twice a week for at least more than two hours each day.

“We have been practicing really hard, so I think we will do even better than last year,” Denni said .

Coach April Shaw appears optimistic.

“I think they are going to be one of the best teams we have ever had,” Shaw said. “Both high school and middle school teams have some very talented dancers that have strengthened the teams.”
